CANVAS TO CATWALK

An Opening Night event featuring original fashions and live music to kick off the Bribie Island Nature Festival.

Canvas to Catwalk showcases stunning original fabric designs inspired by the natural beauty of Bribie Island.

Twelve young women supported by the Pumicestone Indigenous Education and Employment Council created the patterns under the guidance of Queensland fashion label Red Ridge.

The culmination of a year long project, the Bribie Island Nature Festival Opening Night event will showcase garments modelled by the young designers wearing their own creative artworks.

After the fashion showcase, stay for a drink, take a chance to mingle and listen to live music, setting the mood for a festival weekend celebrating Bribie Island.

The Canvas to Catwalk project has received financial assistance from the Queensland Government through the Arts Queensland Backing Indigenous Arts initiative. The project was also supported by City of Moreton Bay through the Community Activities Funding program and the Regional Arts Development Fund.
